Google Sniper Sites in 2014 – Do They Still Work?

The  ‘Google Sniper’ method first became popular about five years ago – in 2009 when George Brown posted in the well know Warrior forum about his new method.

Since then there have been a number of other popular internet marketing products and methods based on this method – or similar methods (BTF, for example).

But does the original method still work now in 2014 – after a number of Google Penguin and Panda updates?

And if not – what does?

The Method in a Nutshell

A simple explanation of the GS method would be that it essentially involves combining an SEO trick with affiliate offers to make money; taking advantage of Google’s preference for sites with relevant keywords in the URL, page content and links to rank a site.

But there is a lot more to it than just that.

George’s guide goes into the method in detail, and pays close attention to the most important part; selecting a niche and how to find profitable and easy to monetise key words.

I go into more detail in my review here if you’re interested.

Has it ever worked?

Yes – there are a lot of people who have built, ranked and successfully made money with the sniper method.

Some of Google’s updates from 2011 onwards have been to combat the large number of ‘sniper sites’ from out ranking older and more established sites, that in itself if testimony to how many people have successfully used this or similar methods.

But many of the principles of the original sniper method (now updated anyway) are still effective; good keyword research, on page SEO, back links and key words within the domain and/or URL.

Does it still work now, in 2014?

There are still a lot of these sites around – despite what Google has done to reduce the number of them in some of their search results (payday loans being a prime example)

There are still many examples of successful Google Sniper sites in 2013 and 2014.

Perhaps the best example is just to look at some search results for valuable keywords – such as the term ‘google sniper’ which this site ranks on the first page for:

https://www.google.com/?#q=google+sniper

This site that you are on now uses basically the Google Sniper method – but with a few additional tips that I’ve worked out along the way, while building a lot of these sites and making money from them.

I review the whole GS course in much more detail here if you are interested.

How easy is it to rank a site using the GS method?

That depends on the keyword – but the method, now updated for 2014, does still work – as do other similar methods like those detailed in Bring the Fresh by Kelly Felix.

It can be pretty simple; there are still lots of sites ranking and I’ve done many myself.  Head over to the BHW or Warrior forum and you’ll see people who talk about the sites they have ranked using similar methods.  Or search for a keyword like the one above to see the number of sniper sites that rank on the first page.

I don’t want this post to turn into a Q&A though, as I’ve done a separate one of these here.

If you have any questions you want answered or would like to see the answers to some popular questions, I’d recommend that post.

Otherwise, I’ve written up a full review of Google Sniper by George Montague Brown here.
